Pomelo

Pomelo is a large Asian citrus fruit that’s closely related to grapefruit. Pomelos are grown commercially in Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia, China, Mexico, and regions of Southern California and Florida. Native to Asia, it’s one of the original non-hybrid citrus fruits used to cultivate the most commercially available varieties.

It contains several vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that make it a healthy addition to your diet. One fruit packs several days’ worth of vitamin C, a powerful immune-boosting antioxidant that helps prevent cellular damage from harmful compounds called free radicals. Pomelo is also rich in other vitamins and minerals, including potassium, which helps regulate fluid balance and blood pressure. Furthermore, pomelo contains several other vitamins and minerals in smaller amounts.

Mangosteen

Mangosteen is an exotic, tropical fruit with a slightly sweet and sour flavor. It’s originally from Southeast Asia but can be found in various tropical regions around the world. In Sri Lanka this is a very popular home garden plant and the edible fruit is a well-known fruit throughout the country while the whole plant has medicinal value. The fruit is sometimes referred to as purple mangosteen because of the deep purple color its rind develops when ripe. In contrast, the juicy inner flesh is bright white. Though mangosteen is a relatively obscure fruit, it shouldn’t be overlooked, as it may offer many health benefits due to its rich supply of essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and unique antioxidants.

Blue Olives

Blue Olive is a tropical flowering plant in the family Elaeocarpaceae. It has a disjunctive distribution, with the species indigenous to Sri Lanka and introduced to southern India and in Assam, Bangladesh and other parts in the north of the Indian subcontinent. Blue olive is packed with antioxidants and rich in minerals, vitamins, fiber and valuable antioxidants.

Sapodilla

Indigenous to Southern Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Grown in large quantities in Tropical Asia including India, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Sapodilla fruit is rich in Fiber, Vitamin C, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Folate and Vitamin B5. Fiber helps promote bowel health. It also keeps the stomach feeling fuller for longer and helps control blood sugar. Sapodilla is a good source of potassium. This nutrient helps lower your blood pressure. Guava

Guava is a small tropical fruit tree or shrub that belongs to the family Myrtaceae. The trees are native to tropical America but are now grown in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. Guava has quadrangular branchlets, oval to oblong leaves, and four-petaled, white flowers. The guava fruits are round to pear-shaped and contain small, hard seeds. The skin is greenish-yellow coloured while the flesh can be white, yellow, or pink. The fruits are commonly consumed raw or sliced and served with sugar and cream as a dessert. They are also popular as pastry fillings, preserves, jams, and jellies due to the pulp’s texture and sweet taste. Fresh guavas are a rich source of vitamins A, B, and C and possess antioxidant properties.
